A hands-on interactive exhibit developed by the Children’s Museum of Cleveland opens in the changing gallery. Thu, Aug 13 - Imagination Play Day, Peninsula Town Center, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, Hampton. Bring your family out every Thursday to Peninsula Town Center’s first recurring children’s event that will feature Imagination Playground Blocks located at the Pop Fountain. The 115 piece block set consists of 15 uniquely designed shapes to encourage open-ended free play that empowers children to constantly reconfigure the space around them and design their own course of play. Thu, Aug 13 - Teens with a Purpose: Just AART Day, Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, 4 - 7:00 pm, 201 Market Street, Virginia Beach. The Just AART Day/ Fun Day is an event designed specifically for middle school and high school aged youth that brings young people together from various backgrounds and circumstances as they gather in a public space. Young people will work with an artist to create art and experience art focused on them and to celebrate tweens and teens as they celebrate themselves! They will create a mural 6 x 8 or two pieces 3 x 8 each. Mural is made up of canvas stapled to a wooden frame or two panels with hinges. Artist creates the outline for the mural. The Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships is a major professional and amateur event for the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA). The Five Points Community Farm Market is a project of the Five Points Partnership, a 501-c-3 non-profit formed in 2001.
