This interactive performance installation invades the world between myth and reality. Now thru Oct 30 - Haunted Ship: Zombie Pirates, The Battleship Wisconsin, Fri/Sat and Thu Oct 29 6:30 - 10:00 pm, Nauticus, 1 Waterside Dr., Norfolk. Chemical waste has turned pirates and the Battleship Wisconsin’s crew into zombies—can you escape in time to avoid the same fate?  This experience is not recommended for children under age 13, the claustrophobic, or faint of heart.  Must be able to climb steep ladders and navigate tight, dark spaces. Now thru Oct 31 - A Haunting at Greenbrier Farms, Thu-Sun starting at 6:00 pm, 225 Sign Pine Road, Chesapeake. This years guided walking tour at Historic Greenbrier Farms starts around the 100 year old farm house and ends about 20 minutes later on the south side of the property navigating a dark cornfield. The attraction is designed by Mark Brownell, a long time Hampton Roads resident and prior owner of the Haunted House at the Oceanfront. Thu, Oct 22 - Masquerade Mask Making Preview Reception, Harbor Gallery, 6 - 8:00 pm, 1508 Colley Avenue, Norfolk. The Ghent Business Association is excited to announce the Sixth Annual Mask Making Contest in conjunction with Masquerade in Ghent. We are asking local artists, would-be artists, self-proclaimed creative people and anyone else who would like to participate, to take part. The masks will remain at Harbor Gallery for one week so that the public can view the masks, and the silent auction will continue throughout the week. Inheriting a love of Irish music from his parents, he took up the fiddle at the age of eight.  In 2007, Burke started an independent record company, Loftus Music, in order to release his own recordings. Burke continues to tour throughout the world. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and two children.

The Great Dismal Swamp is anything but dismal. The narrated Swamp Safari (bus tour), one of Suffolk's most popular attractions, fills up quickly. Ray Bradbury's internationally acclaimed novel Fahrenheit 451 is a masterwork of 20th-century literature set in a bleak, dystopian future. Scenery, lighting and costumes are by GSA Resident Designer Shawn S. Crawford and projections and sound are by GSA Department Chair, Steve J. Earle. The Five Points Community Farm Market is a project of the Five Points Partnership, a 501-c-3 non-profit formed in 2001. The Partnership is a grass-roots community organization based in the Norview section of Norfolk. The Farm Market began as a community project in 2002 in a vacant lot across from Norview Middle School, with volunteers selling Rodman's peanuts and 3 small growers offering produce. We have been located on Church Street since May 3, 2008, and we continue to work to bring the city of Norfolk and surrounding cities fresh produce grown by local small farms, and we are always growing.
